October 1, 2011 The Beginning .....

 Today is the beginning of our 3 month journey to becoming healthier, slimmer, and more energized! I’m so excited for our program to start and I’m ready to help you make the changes that you’ve been struggling with on your own. Where do we start?? Little by little we will begin to make changes in our lifestyle that are essential for any healthy weight loss plan. I’m a big believer that we need to feel challenged in order to really own instructions or direction from someone else - especially when it comes to improving our health. Every week I will challenge our group with up to 3 new challenges. Some of these challenges will be daily and some will be measured in a week. We will have 3 challenge categories: Food intake Exercise Mental / Focus When I present new challenges to the group you do not have to accept. I only want you to accept it if you are 100% ready and willing to take it on. We must make this fun and exciting so that it is not just another thing we have to do. I want you all to feel driven, empowered, and fired up to make the next 3 months about YOU! Each week we will add a few more challenges and if necessary we MIGHT let go of a few but that will be up to us to decide. I’m going to join the challenge with you so that I know what the group is feeling and going through. If I tell you no sweets for the week I promise you that I too will be without them. I want us to be in on this together and I know that as a team with everyone on board we will be much stronger and more determined. 
Day 1 /  Week 1 Challenge
Today you have surrendered you jeans! I will keep them with me until the New Year. What changes when you leave today? 
YOUR FIRST CHALLENGES: 
1.  No eating after 7pm unless you have medication that requires it. Water and an Apple or Grapefruit are an exception. 
2.  NO Fried foods (this includes chips because they too are fried) 
3.  Start paying attention to calories
4.   PLAN out your meals ahead of time 
5.  RUN/WALK/BIKE/ELLIPTICAL 6 miles this week. 
6.  50 crunches every day 
7.  Find a book that inspires you. Read at least 1 chapter a day. 
8.  Sign up for Spark People this week. www.sparkpeople.com play around on the website. It has a lot of useful information. 
 I encourage you to use this blog as a journal and ask questions so that we truly create a team and share our ups and downs with one another. I do not want this to be an individual program-- We can make more changes as a group. Lastly: This program is for YOU to become healthier and ultimately happier. Health and Happiness are the MOST IMPORTANT aspects of ones life. So, ladies lets do this together! I hope that you start this challenge feeling fired up and like we are a team playing a sport together. This is nothing to dread, it is all for YOU and might just be the most exciting journey you’ve been on in a long time! I’m happy to be a part of this.
